DESCRIPTION

This circuit opens and closes the Intake Air Control Valve (IACV) in response to the engine load in order to increase the intake efficiency (ACIS: Acoustic Control Induction System).

Note:

Inspect the fuses of circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (OPERATE VSV FOR ACIS)

    1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from port F of the vacuum switching valve (for ACIS).

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Start the engine.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Active the VSV for Intake Control.

    5. Operate the VSV for ACIS.

    6. Check the VSV air flow when switching the VSV on and off.

      OK

      Test Condition

      VSV is ON

      Air from port E flows out through port F

      VSV is OFF

      Air from port E flows out through air filter

  2. CHECK VACUUM HOSES (VSV FOR ACIS - INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE, INTAKE MANIFOLD)

    1. Check the vacuum hoses (Click here).

    REPAIR OR REPLACE VACUUM HOSES

  3. INSPECT INTAKE MANIFOLD (INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE)

    1. Inspect the intake air control valve (Click here).

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

    REPLACE INTAKE MANIFOLD

  4. INSPECT VSV FOR ACIS

    1. Inspect the VSV for ACIS (Click here).

    REPLACE VSV FOR ACIS

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VSV FOR ACIS - ECM AND INTEGRATION RELAY)

    1. Disconnect the VSV for ACIS connector.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Remove the integration relay from the engine room relay block.

    4. Disconnect the integration relay connector.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    6. Reconnect the VSV for ACIS connector.

    7. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    8. Reconnect the integration relay connector.

    9. Install the integration relay.

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (VSV FOR ACIS - ECM AND INTEGRATION RELAY)

  6. CHECK ECM POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT

    1. Check the ECM power source circuit (Click here).
