STEERING KNUCKLE(for AWD) REMOVAL

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the steering knuckle removal/installation are shown below.

Note


  • When the brake pedal is first depressed after replacing the brake pads or pushing back the disc brake piston, DTC C1341, C1342, C1343 and/or C1344 may be stored. As there is no malfunction, clear the DTCs.

  • While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or any door courtesy switch is turned on. Therefore, when servicing, do not depress the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

  • Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing.

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE STRUT BAR BRACKET SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. DISCONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR (w/o Vacuum Brake Booster)

  6. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  7. DISCONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH

  8. DISCONNECT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

  12. DISCONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH

  13. LOOSEN FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH

      Loosen the 3 bolts.

  14. DISCONNECT FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER ARM

  15. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE LH

      Remove the 3 bolts and steering knuckle LH..

  16. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  17. REMOVE DISC BRAKE AIR GUIDE PLATE


    1. Remove the disc brake air guide plate from the steering knuckle LH.
