EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL
PROCEDURE
REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Half Cover Type)
REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Metal Type)
REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR
REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold.

REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE
REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst)
-
Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector and disengage the wire harness clamp.
-
Remove the 4 bolts and 4 compression springs.
Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst) from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.
Remove the 2 gaskets from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst) and exhaust manifold.

REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

Remove the 2 nuts and 2 drive shaft heat insulator sub-assemblies.

REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY
-
Remove the 3 bolts and manifold stay.
-
REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD
-
Remove the 5 nuts and exhaust manifold.
Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket.
-
REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR
-
Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold.
-
