EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Half Cover Type)

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Metal Type)

    Click here

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

    Click here

  4. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR

    Click here

  5. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

    Click here

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

      Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold.

  7. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE

  8. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst)

      Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector and disengage the wire harness clamp.

    2. A296083

      Remove the 4 bolts and 4 compression springs.

    3. Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst) from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    4. Remove the 2 gaskets from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst) and exhaust manifold.

  9. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 nuts and 2 drive shaft heat insulator sub-assemblies.

  10. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

    1. A238477

      Remove the 3 bolts and manifold stay.

  11. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD

    1. A235756

      Remove the 5 nuts and exhaust manifold.

    2. Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket.

  12. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

    1. A235985

      Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold.
