DESCRIPTION
The vacuum sensor assembly detects the brake booster pressure as a change in voltage. The ECM calculates the brake booster pressure based on this voltage.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION
These DTCs are stored when a malfunction is detected in the vacuum sensor assembly (brake booster pressure sensor) circuit. If the vacuum sensor assembly (brake booster pressure sensor) value does not change or the amount of change in the output voltage is outside of the threshold, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store a DTC.

CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P1181 AND P1182)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
Check for DTCs.

Tip:If DTC P1181 and/or P1182 and P0444, P0445 or P0658 are output simultaneously, troubleshoot for DTC P0444, P0445 or P0658 first.
READ VALUE USING GTS (MASTERVAC VACUUM PRESSURE)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Mastervac Vacuum Pressure.
Powertrain > Engine > Data List
Tester Display
Mastervac Vacuum Pressure
Start the engine and read the values.
OK
The value is 45 kPa when the engine is idling and changes when the brake pedal is depressed and released several times.

Stop the engine.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Mastervac Vacuum Pressure.

Mastervac Vacuum Pressure
According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List after waiting for 5 minutes or more with the engine stopped.
OK
The value does not increase.
Tip:Do not depress the brake pedal after stopping the engine.
If the value increases, there may be air leaks in the brake booster or brake vacuum system.

Disconnect the vacuum sensor assembly connector.
Disconnect the ECM connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the GTS on.
Clear the DTCs.
Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs
Turn the ignition switch off and wait for a few minutes.
Perform the drive test.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
Check for DTCs.
