SFI SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:P1181 and P1182

DTC Code DTC Name
P1181 Mastervac Pressure Gradient Default
P1182 Consistency Default of the Mastervac Vacuum Sensor

DESCRIPTION

The vacuum sensor assembly detects the brake booster pressure as a change in voltage. The ECM calculates the brake booster pressure based on this voltage.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

These DTCs are stored when a malfunction is detected in the vacuum sensor assembly (brake booster pressure sensor) circuit. If the vacuum sensor assembly (brake booster pressure sensor) value does not change or the amount of change in the output voltage is outside of the threshold, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store a DTC.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P1181 AND P1182)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.

    5. Check for DTCs.

Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes

    6. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List after waiting for 5 minutes or more with the engine stopped.

      OK

      The value does not increase.

      Tip:
      • Do not depress the brake pedal after stopping the engine.

      • If the value increases, there may be air leaks in the brake booster or brake vacuum system.
