ENGINE STOP AND START ECU REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. PRECAUTION

   Note:

   After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

2. READ NUMBER OF STARTER OPERATIONS

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

   Note:

   When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

4. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover)

   • for Hatchback, Wagon:

5. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

   • for Hatchback, Wagon:

6. REMOVE ECU INTEGRATION BOX RH (for LHD)

7. REMOVE ENGINE STOP AND START ECU (for LHD)

   

   1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the engine stop and start ECU from the ECU integration box RH.

8. REMOVE ENGINE STOP AND START ECU (for RHD)

   1. 

      Disconnect the 3 engine stop and start ECU connectors from the engine stop and start ECU.

   2. 

      Remove the 2 bolts and engine stop and start ECU.

   3. 

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the bracket from the engine stop and start ECU.
