PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE BATTERY

  8. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

  9. DISCONNECT RADIATOR PIPE

  10. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER

  11. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Move the shift lever to N.

    2. C156645

      Remove the nut and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.

    3. Remove the clip and separate the transmission control cable assembly from the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket.

  12. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. C278997

      Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever from the park/neutral position switch assembly.

    2. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch assembly connector.

      Using a screwdriver, pry out the lock plate and remove the lock nut and lock plate from the park/ neutral position switch assembly.

      Remove the 2 bolts and park/neutral position switch assembly from the continuously variable transaxle assembly.
