EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Full Cover Type)

  2. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Full Cover Type)

  3. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR

  4. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

    1. A205148

      Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold.

  6. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst)

      Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector and wire harness clamp.

    2. A296083

      Remove the 4 bolts and 4 compression springs.

    3. Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst) from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    4. Remove the 2 gaskets from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst) and exhaust manifold.

  8. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

    1. A308414

      w/ Drive shaft heat insulator sub-assembly:

      1. Remove the 2 nuts and drive shaft heat insulator sub-assembly.

    2. A238477

      Remove the 3 bolts and manifold stay.

  9. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD

    1. A183843

      Remove the 5 nuts and exhaust manifold.

    2. Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket.

  10. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

    1. A205150

      Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold.
