INTAKE SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE
Warm up the engine.
Turn the engine switch off.
Remove the V bank cover (Click hereClick hereClick hereClick here).
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the intelligent tester on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active test / Active the VSV for Intake Control.
Start the engine.

OFF (Vent)
Perform the Active Test and check that the actuator rod operates.
If the result is not as specified, inspect the ECM, intake manifold and VSV (for ACIS) for normal operation. Replace malfunctioning parts as necessary.
Turn the engine switch off.
Disconnect the intelligent tester from the DLC3.
Install the V bank cover (Click hereClick hereClick hereClick here).
INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE

Vacuum Pump
Inspect the diaphragm.
Using a vacuum pump, apply a vacuum of 60 kPa (450 mmHg, 17.7 in.Hg). Check that the lever moves.
If the result is not as specified, replace the intake manifold.

CHECK AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM
Tip:The illustration shows the areas that may draw in secondary air, which could lead to idling problems.
Check that the hoses are installed correctly.
Check for cracks, etc. in the hoses.
