SRS SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:
  • Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may injure your hands.

  • If the cushion airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH, separate type front seat cushion spring assembly, separate type front seat cushion cover and separate type front seat cushion pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE COVER

  3. PRECAUTION

    Note:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH

  6. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE RH

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH

  8. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH

  9. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY

  10. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD

  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Detach the 3 clamps from the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

      CAUTION:
      • The nuts must not be reused.

      • Make sure that the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and front seat airbag sub-assembly RH.
