FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY(for Manual Seat) REMOVAL

Tip:

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

  1. PRECAUTION

    CAUTION:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Note:

    • After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    • If the side airbag has deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly LH, separate type front seatback spring assembly LH, separate type front seatback pad and separate type front seatback cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

    • If the cushion airbag has deployed, replace the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH, separate type front seat cushion spring assembly RH, separate type front seat cushion pad and separate type front seat cushion cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

  2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE COVER

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the front seat headrest assembly.

  6. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH

    1. Operate the seat track adjusting handle to move the seat to the rearmost position.

      Detach the 2 claws to remove the front outer seat track bracket cover LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

  7. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH

      Detach the 2 claws to remove the front inner seat track bracket cover LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

  8. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH

    1. Operate the seat track adjusting handle to move the seat to the foremost position.

      Detach the 2 claws to remove the rear outer seat track bracket cover LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

  9. REMOVE REAR INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH

      Detach the 2 claws to remove the rear inner seat track bracket cover LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Operate the seat track adjusting handle to move the seat to the rearmost position.

    3. B338226

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    4. Operate the seat track adjusting handle to move the seat to the center position and operate the reclining adjusting handle to move the seatback to the upright position.

      w/ Seat Cushion Airbag

      Detach the clamp and disconnect the connector of the front seat inner belt assembly LH.

    6. w/ Seat Heater System:

      Disconnect the connector of the seat heater.

    7. Disconnect the connector of the front seat airbag assembly LH.

      1. Place a finger on the slider, slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the front seat side airbag connector.

    8. for Front Passenger Side, w/ Seat Cushion Airbag:

      1. Disconnect the connector of the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH.

      2. Place a finger on the slider, slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the front seat side airbag connector.

    9. Remove the front seat assembly LH from the vehicle.

      Note:

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
