DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling ECU assembly actuates the headlight leveling motor according to vehicle conditions.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL Auto Leveling / Active Test.

    5. Check that the leveling motors operate.

      Drive The Leveling Motor UP Leveling motor upward operation ON/OFF

      ON: Moves up

      OFF: Stops
      Drive The Leveling Motor DOWN Leveling motor downward operation ON/OFF

      ON: Moves down

      OFF: Stops
      OK
      Headlight leveling motors operate normally.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A48 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A85 headlight leveling motor LH connector or the A87 headlight leveling motor RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A48-18 (LHT) - A85-7 (LH T) Always Below 1 Ω
      A48-11 (LH+) - A85-8 (LHIG) Always Below 1 Ω
      A48-24 (LH-) - A85-4 (LH E) Always Below 1 Ω
      A48-18 (LHT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A48-11 (LH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A48-24 (LH-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      RH Side
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A48-17 (RHT) - A87-7 (RH T) Always Below 1 Ω
      A48-10 (RH+) - A87-8 (RHIG) Always Below 1 Ω
      A48-23 (RH-) - A87-4 (RH E) Always Below 1 Ω

      A48-10 (RH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. CHECK HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR


    1. Replace the headlight leveling motor with a new or known good one Click here.

    2. Perform the Active Test of the leveling motors.

      OK
      Headlight leveling motors operate normally.
