AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM(for 8 Inch Display) Switch Lights of Remote Touch do not Illuminate

DESCRIPTION

Power is supplied to the remote operation board illumination when the light control switch is in the tail or head position.

Tech Tips

Only the "AUDIO", "MENU" and return switches on the remote operation board illuminate.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ILLUMINATION SIGNAL)


    1. Disconnect the J59 remote operation board connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      J59-1 (ILL+) - Body ground Light control switch in tail or head position

      11 to 14 V*1

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REMOTE OPERATION BOARD - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the J59 remote operation board connector.

    2. Disconnect the J10 combination meter assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J59-8 (ILL-) - J10-39 (ILL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      J59-8 (ILL-) or J10-39 (ILL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. REPLACE REMOTE OPERATION BOARD


    1. Replace the remote operation board with a new or known good one.
