This DTC is stored when LIN communication between the certification ECU and steering lock ECU stops for 10 seconds or more.

Note


  • When using the intelligent tester with the ignition switch off to troubleshoot:

    Connect the intelligent tester to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the intelligent tester and vehicle begins.

  • Inspect the fuses and bulbs for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

When the communication between the steering lock ECU and certification ECU stops, DTC B2785 is also stored.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - STEERING LOCK ECU)

    1. Disconnect the D54 and D57*2 (or D108*1) ECU connectors.

      *1: for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column

      *2: for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D54-29 (LIN) - D57-5 (LIN)*2 or D108-6 (LIN)*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      D54-29 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING LOCK ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the D57*2 or D108*1 ECU connector.

      *1: for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column

      *2: for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column

    2. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  5. REPLACE STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Temporarily replace the steering lock actuator with a new one (See page for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column, Click here for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column).
