LIGHTING SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Automatic Light Control System)


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    2. Turn the headlight dimmer switch to the AUTO position.

    3. Cover the automatic light control sensor and check that the taillights and headlights come on in order.

    4. Uncover the automatic light control sensor and check that the headlights and taillights go off in order.

  2. LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Key Confine Prevention Function)


    • *1: w/ Front Fog Light

    • *2: w/ Rear Fog Light

    • *3: w/ Automatic Light Control System


    1. Prepare the vehicle so that the ignition switch is turned to ON and the driver door is closed.

    2. Set the headlight dimmer switch to the tail, head or AUTO*3 position to illuminate the lights.

    3. Turn the ignition switch off and open the driver door. Check that the headlights, front fog lights*1, rear fog lights*2, taillights, clearance lights and license plate lights turn off.

  3. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Daytime Running Light)


    1. Turn the headlight dimmer switch off.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Release the parking brake.

    4. Check that the daytime running lights come on.

  4. AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHT BEAM LEVEL CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (for LED Headlight)


    1. Check that the initialization (determination of the initial position) of the headlight leveling motor is performed when the ignition switch is turned to ON.

    2. Check that the headlight moves when all of the following conditions are met: 1) the rear of the vehicle is moved up or down, 2) the engine is running, 3) the vehicle is stopped, and 4) the headlight dimmer switch is in the head position.

      Note

      Make sure to change the vehicle height slowly.

  5. LANE CHANGE FLASHER SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customize parameter at the initial setting.


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    2. Check that the turn signal light flashes a specified number of times when the turn signal switch is moved to the lane change position (it is not necessary to hold the switch).

    3. While the turn signal light is flashing after the turn signal switch is moved to the lane change position (it is not necessary to hold the switch), check that the turn signal light turns off after the turn signal switch is moved in the opposite direction.

  6. ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Illuminated Entry System)

    Tech Tips

    When inspecting the following functions, make sure that the personal light switch*1 or front room light switch*2 is in the door position.


    1. The illuminated entry system illuminates the items below.


      • Personal light assembly*1

      • Front room light assembly*2

      • Ignition key cylinder light*3

      • Transponder key coil*4

      • Engine switch illumination*5

    2. The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Lights fade in and illuminate constantly Any door is opened when all the doors are closed.
      Lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

      When any of the following conditions is met:


      • All the doors are unlocked using the transmitter, when the ignition switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.

      • The driver side door is unlocked using the mechanical key, when the ignition switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.

      • The driver side door is unlocked using the lock/unlock switch, when the ignition switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.

      • The ignition switch is turned from ON to off when all doors are closed.

      • The state changes from any of the doors being opened to all doors being closed, with the ignition switch off.

      Lights fade out immediately

      When any of the following conditions is met:


      • The ignition switch is turned from off to ON when all the doors are closed.

      • With the ignition switch off, all the doors are locked using the transmitter, all the doors are closed, and any door is unlocked.

      • With the ignition switch off, the driver side door is locked using the mechanical key, all the doors are closed, and any door is unlocked.

      • With the ignition switch off, the driver side door is locked using the lock/unlock switch, all the doors are closed, and any door is unlocked.

  7. CHECK BATTERY SAVING CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION


    1. The battery saving control (basic function) illuminates the item below.

      1. The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

        Operation Condition
        Battery saving (basic function) The doors remain in the same condition for 20 minutes.
    2. The battery saving control (interior light auto cut function) illuminates the lights and parts below.

      • Ignition key cylinder light*3

      • Transponder key coil*4

      • Step light assembly

      • Center room light assembly

      • Rear room light assembly*5

      1. The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

        Operation Condition
        Battery saving (interior light auto cut function) (w/ Key Confine Prevention Function) 20 minutes have elapsed since the ignition switch was turned off, regardless of whether the doors are open or closed and regardless of the map light switch position.
