ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The absorber control ECU (rear acceleration sensor) receives signals from the sensors and switches to control the absorber control actuator (shock absorber assembly). It uses these signals to optimally control the damping force in accordance with the driving conditions and road conditions.
| Component | Function | |
|---|---|---|
| Shock absorber assembly | Absorber control actuator | Changes the damping force. |
| Front acceleration sensor LH | Detects the vertical acceleration of the left front area of the vehicle body. | |
| Front acceleration sensor RH | Detects the vertical acceleration of the right front area of the vehicle body. | |
| Absorber control ECU (rear acceleration sensor) |
|
|
| Airbag sensor assembly*1 Yaw rate sensor assembly*2 |
Acceleration sensor | Detects the vehicle's longitudinal and lateral acceleration and deceleration. |
| Steering angle sensor | Detects the steering direction and the angle of the steering wheel. | |
| Brake actuator assembly | Skid control ECU |
|
| ECM |
|
|
| Driving support ECU assembly*3 | Sends the damping force cooperative control signal to the absorber control ECU (rear acceleration sensor). | |
| Combination switch assembly | Absorber control switch | Switches the driving mode. |
| Combination meter assembly | Multi-information display | Indicates the drive mode selected using the absorber control switch (combination switch assembly). |
