PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT HEATER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

      Component without harness connected

      (Heater Switch Assembly)

      Check the heater switch assembly.

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection

        Condition

        Specified Condition

        4 - 5

        Heater switch assembly on

        Below 1 Ω

        Heater switch assembly off

        10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the heater switch assembly.

    2. Check the switch illumination and indicator.

      1. Apply battery voltage to the heater switch assembly and check that the switch illumination and each indicator come on.

        OK

        Battery Connection

        Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 2

        Battery negative (-) → 5

        Always

        Indicator comes on

        Battery positive (+) → 1

        Battery negative (-) → 5

        Always

        Switch illumination comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the heater switch assembly.
