LIGHTING SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. INSPECT INTERIOR LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

    Note

    When troubleshooting a function, first make sure that the function is set to the default setting.

    Tech Tips

    The interior light control illuminates the lights below.


    • Power Switch Illumination

    • Front Interior Lights

    • Rear Interior Light


    1. The operation and operation conditions of this control are described below.

      Operation Operation Condition
      Fade in and illuminate constantly Any door is opened when all doors are closed.
      Illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

      When any of the following conditions is met, the lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out.


      • The key enters any actuation area around the doors when the power switch is off and all doors are closed*1.

      • Any door is unlocked when the power switch is off, all doors are closed and locked.

      • The power switch is turned from on (ACC) to off when all doors are closed.

      • All doors are closed when any door is opened and the power switch is off.

      Fade out immediately

      When any of the following conditions is met, the lights fade out immediately.


      • The power switch is turned from off to on (ACC) when all doors are closed.

      • All doors are locked when the power switch is off, all doors are closed and any door is unlocked.

      • All doors are locked again when all doors are closed and locked.

      Battery saver When no changes occur in the condition of the doors for 20 minutes and a key is not in the actuation area, these lights turn off.

      Tech Tips

      *1: When the lights are on, if the key leaves all of actuation areas around the doors, after approximately 3 seconds, the lights fade out.

  2. INSPECT FOOTWELL LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

    The footwell light control illuminates the lights below.


    • Footwell light LH

    • Footwell light RH


    1. The operation and operation conditions of this control are described below.

      Operation Operation Condition
      Fade in and illuminate constantly

      When any of the following conditions is met, the footwell light LH and footwell light RH fade in.


      • Any door is opened when all door are closed.

      • The power switch is turned from off to on (IG).

      Illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

      When any of the following conditions is met, the footwell light LH and foot light RH illuminate for 15 seconds and then fade out.


      • Any door is unlocked when the power switch is off, all doors are closed and all doors are locked.

      • The power switch is turned from on (IG) to off when all doors are closed.

      • All doors are closed when any door is opened and the power switch is off.

      Fade out immediately All doors are locked when the power switch is off, all doors are closed and any door is unlocked.
      Dim When the power switch is on (READY) and with park (P) selected, the shift lever is moved to select another shift state, the lights that operate dim.
      Battery saver When no changes occur in the condition of the doors for 20 minutes, the footwell lights turn off.
  3. BATTERY SAVING CONTROL OPERATION

    Perform this inspection with the customize parameters at the initial settings.

    Tech Tips

    The lights controlled by battery saving control are as follows:


    • Power Switch

    • Map Light Assembly

    • No. 1 Room Light Assembly

    • Vanity Light Assembly LH and RH

    • Courtesy Light Assembly

    • No. 2 Room Light Assembly (Luggage Compartment Room Light)

      Operation Condition
      Battery saving

      When 20 minutes elapse after the power switch is turned from on (ACC) or on (IG) to off and the lights that operate remain on, the lights are turned off.

      Tech Tips

      Battery saving control is canceled when any of the following operations is performed before the lights are turned off by battery saving control. After the operation is performed, the lights remain on for another 20 minutes and then are turned off.


      • The power switch is turned on (ACC) or on (IG)

      • Any door is opened and closed

      • The back door is opened and closed

      • Any door is unlocked

      • The key enters any exterior actuation area
