    1. The states of the theft deterrent system are as follows:

      State Description Theft Detection
      Disarmed State The theft deterrent system has not been set by the user. Not possible
      Armed Preparation State This is the preparation state before the theft deterrent system becomes active (enters the armed state) when the system has been set by the user. Not possible
      Armed State The theft deterrent system is active. (Theft can be detected.) Possible
      Alarm State A theft attempt has been detected and the warning operation activates. Possible

    2. The theft deterrent system activates as shown in the diagram above when one of the items in the table occurs in order to cause the system to enter the respective state.

      (1)

      In disarmed state 1, when the ignition switch is off, the system state is switched if either of the following conditions is met:


      • With all doors and the engine hood closed, all doors are locked by wireless operation or the entry and start system*1.

      • WIth all doors and the engine hood closed, all doors are locked by the mechanical key.*2
      (2) Approximately 30 seconds elapse.
      (3)

      • The doors are unlocked by wireless operation or the entry and start system*1.

      • Any door is opened.

      • The engine switch is pushed.*1

      • When the ignition key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder.*3

      • The ignition switch is turned to ACC or ON.

      • Any doors are unlocked using the mechanical key.*2

      • The engine hood is opened when the engine hood is closed.

      • Any door is opened when all doors are closed.

      • When 5 seconds or more have elapsed after the engine switch is pressed, the power source mode is changed from off to on (IG) without pressing the engine switch.*1

      • The ignition switch is turned from off to ON.

      • The engine hood is open.*4

      • Any door is open.*4

      • The power source mode is on (IG).*4

      • The theft warning ultrasonic sensor detects movement within the vehicle.*5

      Note

      Ultrasonic waves are used to detect intrusion. Ultrasonic waves do not penetrate steel or glass. When any of the door windows is left open, ultrasonic waves may escape. This may result in the detection of people in the surroundings, leaves or insects entering the vehicle, strong wind or other ultrasonic wave sources in the environment when the vehicle is parked with the door windows open. When parking the vehicle with the door windows open for ventilation, turn off the theft warning ultrasonic sensor using the intrusion sensor cancel switch.*3

      • The ignition switch is ON and an engine speed of 550 r/min continues for 2 seconds.

      • The ignition switch is turned to ACC or ON.*2

      • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation or the entry and start system*1.

      • A door is unlocked using the mechanical key.*2

      • The engine switch is turned on (ACC) or on (IG) within 5 seconds of the engine switch being pushed.*1, *2

      • After approximately 27.5 seconds, alarm stops and the system returns to the armed state.*2

      • After approximately 27.5 seconds, the alarm stops and 5 seconds later the system returns to the armed state.*4
      (7) The engine hood is open → closed.
      (8)

      • Any door is opened.

      • The engine switch is pushed.*1

      • When the ignition key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder.*3

      • The ignition switch is turned on (ACC) or on (IG).

      • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation or the entry and start system*1.

      • A door is unlocked using the mechanical key.*2

      In disarmed state 1, when the ignition switch is off, the system state is switched if either of the following conditions is met:


      • With all doors closed and the engine hood opened, all doors are locked by wireless operation or the entry and start system*1.

      • With all doors closed and the engine hood opened, all doors are locked by the mechanical key.*2
      (10) The engine hood is opened.
