CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE VALVE LIFTER

    1. Remove the valve lifters.

      Tip:

      Arrange the valve lifters in the correct order.

  2. REMOVE INTAKE VALVE

      Using SST and wooden blocks, compress the inner compression spring and remove the valve spring retainer locks.

    2. Remove the valve spring retainer, inner compression spring and intake valve.

      Tip:

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  3. REMOVE EXHAUST VALVE

    1. A323620E01

      Using SST and wooden blocks, compress the inner compression spring and remove the valve spring retainer locks.

    2. Remove the valve spring retainer, inner compression spring and exhaust valve.

      Tip:

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  4. REMOVE VALVE STEM OIL SEAL OR RING

    1. A323621

      Using needle-nose pliers, remove the valve stem oil seal or rings.

  5. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD STUD BOLT

    Note:

    If a cylinder head stud bolt is deformed or its threads are damaged, replace it.

    1. Using an E7 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 4 cylinder head stud bolts.
