A short circuit in the communication line between the rear sensors and ECU or a malfunction in a rear sensor during initialization mode after the ignition switch is turned to ON.

  • No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear corner LH, rear center LH, rear center RH or rear corner RH) (for Hatchback)

  • No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear corner LH or rear corner RH) (for Wagon)

    1. Disconnect the E98 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the R8 No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear corner LH) connector.

    3. Disconnect the R7 No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH) connector.

    4. Disconnect the R6 No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear center RH) connector.

    5. Disconnect the R5 No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear corner RH) connector.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
