EXHAUST PIPE REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during front exhaust pipe assembly, center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst), tail exhaust pipe assembly and No. 2 tail exhaust pipe assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR

  2. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE DAMPER

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. A01RBB8

      Remove the 2 bolts and exhaust pipe damper from the tail exhaust pipe assembly.

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. A01RBBP

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the No. 2 tail exhaust pipe assembly from tail exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Remove the No. 2 tail exhaust pipe assembly from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the tail exhaust pipe assembly.

  4. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. A01R926

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs and disconnect the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

    2. Remove the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

  5. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. A01RCLD

      Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Remove the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

  6. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. A01RDGM

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 compression springs and front exhaust pipe sub-assembly from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    2. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst).
