COOLER EXPANSION VALVE REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (w/ Cooler System)

    for HFC-134a (R134a):

  2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY (for 1WW, 1ND-TV)

  3. REMOVE WATER GUARD PLATE LH (for 1WW, 1ND-TV)

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER AIR DUCT SPLASH SHIELD SEAL (for 1WW, 1ND-TV)

  5. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL (for 1WW, 1ND-TV)

  6. REMOVE COOLER CAP (w/o Cooler System)

  7. DISCONNECT SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Cooler System)

    w/o Sub-cool Accelerator:

  8. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE ASSEMBLY (w/ Cooler System)

    w/o Sub-cool Accelerator:

    Click here

  9. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY (w/ Cooler System)

    w/ Sub-cool Accelerator:

  10. REMOVE COOLER EXPANSION VALVE

    1. E265993

      Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 hexagon bolts.

    2. w/o Sub-cool Accelerator:

      1. E265994C01

        *a

        Bolt for Suction Pipe Sub-assembly

        Temporarily install the bolt for the suction pipe sub-assembly halfway to the cooler expansion valve.

    3. w/ Sub-cool Accelerator:

      1. E265994C01

        *a

        Bolt for Air Conditioner Tube and Accessory Assembly

        Temporarily install the bolt for the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly halfway to the cooler expansion valve.

      Hold the bolt and pull it to remove the cooler expansion valve as shown in the illustration.

      No. 1 Cooler Evaporator Sub-assembly

      Remove the 2 O-rings from the No. 1 cooler evaporator sub-assembly.
