Main
Check the output voltage of the shift stroke sensor (main circuit).
Prepare 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) and 2 leads for connecting the batteries to the sensor.
Connect the batteries in series.
Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 3, and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2.
Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage (combined dry cell battery voltage of 4.5 V)
Tester Connection
Condition (SensorAngle)
Specified Condition
1 (VSS1) - 2 (E2S1)
55°
3.83 to 4.27 V
0°
2.01 to 2.49 V
-55°
0.23 to 0.67 V
Reference Voltage (combined dry cell battery voltage of 5.0 +/- 0.3 V)
Tester Connection
Condition (SensorAngle)
Specified Condition
1 (VSS1) - 2 (E2S1)
55°
4.2 to 4.8 V
0°
2.2 to 2.8 V
-55°
0.2 to 0.8 V
Note:Do not apply more than 6 V.
If the shift stroke sensor has been dropped or subjected to a severe impact, replace it.
If the result is not as specified, replace the shift stroke sensor.
