WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS


    1. The main components in the wireless door lock control system have the following functions:

      Component Function
      Door Courtesy Light Switch Assembly Detects whether the doors are open or closed and sends this information to the main body ECU (network gateway ECU).
      Door Lock with Motor Assembly Door Lock Motor Drives the motor in response to signals from the main body ECU (network gateway ECU) and locks or unlocks the doors.
      Door Lock Position Switch*1,*2 Detects whether the doors are locked or unlocked and sends this information to the main body ECU (network gateway ECU).
      Double Lock Motor*1 Drives the double lock motor by signals from the main body ECU and activates or cancels the double locking system.
      Luggage Door Closer Assembly Door Lock Motor Drives the motor in response to signals from the main body ECU (network gateway ECU) and unlock the luggage door.
      Luggage Door Courtesy Light Switch Detects whether the luggage door is open or closed and sends this information to the main body ECU (network gateway ECU).
      Door Control Receiver Receives a lock or unlock signal from the transmitter and sends this information to the main body ECU (network gateway ECU).
      Main Body ECU (Network Gateway ECU) Drives all door lock motors in response to signals from each.

  2. FUNCTION


    1. The wireless door lock control system has the following functions:

      Function Outline Customized Body Electronics System
      All Doors Lock Pressing the "lock" button of the transmitter locks all doors. Standard*1
      All Doors Unlock
      • Pressing the "unlock" button of the transmitter unlocks all doors.*2,*3

      • Pressing the "unlock" button of the transmitter twice within 5 seconds unlocks all doors after it first unlocks the driver's door.*4,*5

      Automatic Lock Function If none of the doors are opened for 30 seconds*2 (60 seconds)*4 after being unlocked by the wireless door lock control, all the doors are locked again automatically. Standard*1

      • When the door is locked, the hazard light flashes once. When the door is unlocked, the hazard light flashes twice. This is to inform the driver that the operation has been completed.*2

      • When the door is locked, the hazard light flashes once and the wireless door lock buzzer sounds once. When the door is unlocked, the hazard light flashes twice and the wireless door lock buzzer sounds twice. When the luggage door is unlocked, the wireless door lock buzzer sounds once. This is to inform the driver that the operation has been completed.*4

      Luggage Door Unlock Pressing the "luggage door open" button of the transmitter unlocks the luggage door. Standard (Not Customizable)
      Double Locking System*5
      • The double locking system also prevents the doors from being opened through the operation of the inside door knobs. Thus, the doors cannot be opened from either inside or outside of the vehicle.

      • Pressing the "lock" button on the transmitter once activates the double locking system. However, as an emergency unlocking maneuver, only the driver door can be unlocked with a key.

        Note

        Never activate the double locking system when there are people in the vehicle because the doors cannot be opened from the inside of the vehicle. If the doors have been locked by accident, press the "unlock" button of the transmitter.

      Panic Alarm*4

      Keeping the panic alarm button on the transmitter pressed for longer than 0.8 seconds causes the following alarm functions to be activated:


      • Sounds the horn.

      • Flashes the hazard lights, headlights and taillights.

      • Illuminates the map lights (if the map light switch is in the DOOR position).

  4. DIAGNOSIS


    1. If there is a malfunction in the system, the main body ECU (network gateway ECU) stores the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) in its memory. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.
