DRIVE BELT INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT

    Tech Tips

    When reusing the V-ribbed belt, check the entire belt for wear and cracks on the ribs and back of the belt. If the V-ribbed belt is worn to the extent that the cords are exposed or chunks are missing from the ribs, replace the belt.

      *5 Idler Pulley Sub-assembly

      Set the V-ribbed belt onto each pulley as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Make sure the back of the V-ribbed belt is set to the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly and engine water pump assembly.

    2. Using a wrench, turn the pulley set bolt of the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly counterclockwise, and then remove the 5 mm hexagon wrench.

      Check that the V-ribbed belt is set correctly to each pulley.

    4. Start the engine and check that the V-ribbed belt turns smoothly and quietly.
