SHIFT LEVER(for TMMT Made) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. SECURE VEHICLE

    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.

      CAUTION:

      • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.

      • If the vehicle is not secure and shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.

  2. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Move the shift lever to N.

      Turn the shift lever knob sub-assembly counterclockwise to remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.

  4. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.

      Stopper

      Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable assembly.

      Note:

      Do not remove the stopper. If it is removed, reinstall it to its original position.

      Nut

      *b

      Turn approximately 180°

      Turn the nut of the transmission control cable assembly approximately 180° counterclockwise and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.

      Note:

      Do not turn the nut excessively as the internal spring may come off and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable.

  5. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

        Indicator Light Wire Sub-assembly Connector

        Shift Lock Control ECU Connector

        Disconnect the transmission control switch connector.

      2. Disconnect the indicator light wire sub-assembly connector.

      3. Disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector.

      4. Disengage the 5 clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the shift lever assembly.

    2. w/ Smart Entry and Start System:

        Shift Lock Control ECU Connector

        Disconnect the transmission control switch connector.

      2. Disconnect the indicator light wire sub-assembly connector.

      3. Disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector.

      4. Disengage the 5 clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the shift lever assembly.

      Remove the 4 bolts and shift lever assembly from the vehicle body.

  6. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

      Disconnect the transmission control switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the indicator light wire sub-assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector.

    4. Disengage the 5 clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the shift lever assembly.

      Remove the 4 bolts and shift lever assembly from the vehicle body.
