REAR LEAF SPRING(for 4WD and Pre-Runner) DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE REAR LOWER SPRING SHACKLE BUSH


    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 rear spring shackle lower bushes from the rear leaf spring assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  2. DISASSEMBLE REAR SPRING ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Secure the rear leaf spring assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.

    2. Using a brass bar and hammer, pry open the 4 spring clips of the rear No. 3 leaf spring.

      Note

      Do not damage the leaf spring.

    3. A01SGRZ

      Secure the spring with a vise as shown in the illustration.

    4. Remove the nut and center bolt.

    5. except Single Cab:

      Remove the 2 rear No. 3 spring spacers.

    6. Remove the rear No. 1 spring spacer.

  3. REMOVE REAR SPRING SILENCER


    1. Remove the 4 rear spring silencers from the leaf spring.

  4. REMOVE REAR SPRING LEAF BUSH

    1. Using SST and a press, remove the rear spring leaf bush from the rear No. 1 spring leaf.
