DESCRIPTION

The No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front side LH) is installed on the front bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front side LH). If the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front side LH) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

Note:
  • If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the TOYOTA parking assist-sensor system on. Then clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 2 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT SIDE LH))

    1. Disconnect the E98 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the r4 No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front side LH) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Replace the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front side LH) with a known good one.

      All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.
