INTAKE SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT INTAKE SYSTEM

   1. Check that there are no vacuum leaks at the points shown in the illustration.

      Tip:

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after repairing air leaks in the intake system.

2. INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE (for ACIS)

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Start the engine.

   3. Warm up the engine.

   4. Turn the GTS on.

   5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Activate the VSV for Intake Control.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test

      Tester Display
      Activate the VSV for Intake Control

   6. 

      When "Activate the VSV for Intake Control" is performed, check that the actuator rod operates.

      If the operation is not as specified, inspect the intake air control valve (for ACIS) and vacuum hose.

   7. When "Activate the VSV for Intake Control" is complete, check that the actuator rod returns to its original position.

      If the operation is not as specified, inspect the intake air control valve (for ACIS) and vacuum hose.
