ROOF SUNSHADE SYSTEM SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. GENERAL

    This system has the following functions: manual slide open and close; auto slide open and close; and jam protection.

  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

    Sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly

    Sliding roof drive gear commands the sliding roof motor to rotate forward and backward, which slides the roof sunshade trim.

    Map light assembly

    Output of operation signals from the built-in roof sunshade switch to the sliding roof drive gear is handled by the map light.

  3. SYSTEM OPERATION

    The roof sunshade has the following features.

    Manual slide open and close

    This function causes the roof sunshade to open (or close) when the open switch (or close switch) is pressed for less than 0.3 seconds.

    The roof sunshade stops as soon as the switch is released.

    Auto slide open and close

    This function causes the roof sunshade to be fully opened (or closed) when the open switch (or close switch) is pressed for 0.3 seconds or more.

    Jam protection function

    The jam protection function automatically stops the roof sunshade if a foreign object gets jammed in the roof sunshade during the auto close operation.
