RADIATOR REMOVAL


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE

      *1 Protective Tape

      Put protective tape around the radiator grille.

    2. Remove the 2 clips and 2 screws.

      Detach the 6 claws and remove the radiator grille.

  3. REMOVE RADIATOR SIDE DEFLECTOR LH

      Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. Detach the claw and remove the deflector.

  4. REMOVE RADIATOR SIDE DEFLECTOR RH


    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. Detach the claw and remove the deflector.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER


    1. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 under cover.

  6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT


    1. Remove the radiator cap.

    2. Loosen the cylinder block drain cock plug and radiator drain cock plug, and then drain the coolant.

      Tech Tips

      Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.

  7. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE INLET

  8. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET

  9. REMOVE AIR PUMP INLET (w/ Secondary Air Injection System)

    1. Remove the bolts and disconnect the pump inlet.

  10. REMOVE FAN SHROUD

    1. Disconnect the reservoir hose from the radiator tank upper.

    2. Loosen the 4 nuts holding the fluid coupling fan.

    3. Remove the drive belt Click here.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts holding the fan shroud.

    5. Remove the 4 nuts of the fluid coupling fan, and then remove the shroud together with the coupling fan.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the radiator core.

    6. Remove the fan pulley from the water pump.

  11. REMOVE OIL COOLER INLET HOSE (for Automatic Transmission)


    1. Disconnect the inlet hose from the radiator tank lower.

  12. REMOVE OIL COOLER OUTLET HOSE (for Automatic Transmission)


    1. Disconnect the outlet hose from the radiator tank lower.

  13. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the 2 airbag sensor front connectors.

    2. Using a clip remover, detach the 4 clamps from the radiator side as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the clip remover tip before use.

      Remove the 4 bolts and radiator.
