INSTALL VACUUM PUMP SHAFT
Using a press, install the new ball bearing to the vacuum pump shaft.
Using SST and a press, install the vacuum pump shaft to the housing.
Using a snap ring pliers, install the snap ring.
INSTALL VACUUM PUMP ROTOR ASSEMBLY
Apply the engine oil to the rotor, and install the rotor in the vacuum pump shaft.
INSTALL VACUUM PUMP BLADE A
Apply the engine oil to the 5 vacuum pump blades.
Install the 5 vacuum pump blades into the vacuum pump housing.
Note
Install the vacuum pump blades A with round end facing the inner surface of the vacuum pump housing.
Install the vacuum pump blades A with round end touching the inner surface of the vacuum pump housing
When reusing the vacuum pump blades A, be sure to reinstall each blade to its original slit on the rotor.
Be sure to install the vacuum pump blades A in the correct direction as shown in the illustration.
INSTALL VACUUM PUMP END COVER
Place the vacuum pump in a vise, as shown in the illustration.
Note
Do not tighten the vise excessively.
Apply the engine oil to the 2 O-rings.
Install the 2 new O-rings and the vacuum pump end cover temporarily with the 3 bolts.
Using a pin punch (φ5 mm) and hammer, drive in the 2 straight pins.
Fully tighten the 3 bolts.
INSTALL CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY
Install a new gasket and the check valve.
INSTALL VACUUM PUMP GEAR
Temporarily install the woodruff key, vacuum pump gear and gear lock nut to the pump shaft.
Using soft jaws, clamp the vacuum pump gear in the vise.
Note
Do not tighten the vise excessively.
Tighten the gear lock nut.
INSPECT VACUUM PUMP ASSEMBLY
Turn the gear in the vacuum pump counter-clockwise (left-hand turn, viewed from the gear side) and check for improper movement or torque change.
