MONITOR DESCRIPTION

These DTCs are stored when a malfunction is detected in the engine coolant temperature sensor circuit. If there is an open or short in the engine coolant temperature sensor circuit when the ignition switch is turned to ON, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store a DTC.

PROCEDURE

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (WATER TEMPERATURE NOT CORRECTED)

    1. With the engine stopped, leave the vehicle as is and wait until the engine coolant is cool.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Water Temperature Not Corrected.

Powertrain > Engine > Data List

      Tester Display

      Water Temperature Not Corrected

    6. Read the value.

      OK

The engine coolant temperature after cold soak is almost the same as the ambient temperature.
