FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL TIMING GEAR CASE OR TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL


    1. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal.

      Note


      • Keep the lip of the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal free from foreign matter.

      • Do not allow MP grease to contact the dust seal.

      *a Standard Depth

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal until its surface is flush with the timing chain cover assembly edge.

      -0.75 to -1.45 mm (-0.0295 to -0.0571 in.)
      (From the edge of the timing chain cover assembly)

      Note


      • Do not tap in the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal at an angle.

      • Keep the lip of the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal free from foreign matter.

      • Wipe off any MP grease from the crankshaft.

  2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY ASSEMBLY


    1. Align the crankshaft pulley set key with the crankshaft pulley set key groove of the crankshaft pulley assembly.

    2. A01RCU5C01
      *1 Washers
      *a Hold
      *b Turn

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley assembly in place, tighten the crankshaft pulley set bolt.

      260 N*m  { 2651 kgf*cm, 192 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Insert a few washers (total thickness: approximately 5.0 mm (0.197 in.)) between SST (09213-70011) and SST (09214-00030).
