INTAKE MANIFOLD INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL STUD BOLT (w/ Stud Bolt)

    Tech Tips

    If a stud bolt is deformed or the threads are damaged, replace it.


    1. A001VGL

      Using an E6 "TORX" socket wrench, install the 2 stud bolts to the intake manifold.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET


    1. Install a new No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket to the intake manifold.

  3. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD


    1. Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the intake manifold with the bolt.

      Torque:
      15 N*m  { 153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

    2. Install the bolt to the intake manifold.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      *a Tip of No. 2 Generator Bracket Set Bolt
      *b Intake Manifold Set Bolt

      Temporarily install the intake manifold stay and intake manifold with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Tech Tips

      If the intake manifold set bolt cannot be tightened to the specified torque because the tip of the No. 2 generator bracket set bolt is in the way, remove the V-ribbed belt first.

    4. A001V0GC01
      *1 Bolt
      *2 Nut

      Tighten the 4 bolts and 2 nuts to the specified torque in several steps.

      Torque:
      28 N*m  { 286 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }

    5. Connect the engine wire to the wire harness clamp bracket with the nut.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    6. Engage the 2 wire harness clamps to the intake manifold.

  4. CONNECT VENTILATION HOSE


    1. Connect the ventilation hose to the intake manifold and slide the clip to secure it.

  5. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE


    1. Connect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose to the intake manifold.

  6. INSTALL VACUUM SENSOR BRACKET


    1. Install the vacuum sensor bracket to the intake manifold with the bolt.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    2. Connect the No. 1 air hose assembly to the intake manifold.

    3. Engage the 2 wire harness clamps to the vacuum sensor bracket.

    4. Engage the wire harness clamp to the intake manifold.

  7. INSTALL VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR)

  9. INSPECT INTAKE SYSTEM

    Perform Inspection After Repair after repairing any vacuum leaks in the intake system.
