DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH) is installed on the rear bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH). If the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally. (for Hatchback)

The No. 3 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH) is installed on the rear bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 3 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH). If the No. 3 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally. (for Wagon)

  • If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the TOYOTA parking assist-sensor system on. Then clear the DTCs.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR CENTER LH))

    1. Disconnect the E98 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the R7 No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
