AIR PUMP (w/ Secondary Air Injection System) INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. A01DYNVE03

      Measure the resistance of the air pump.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      1 - 2 0.44 to 1.0 Ω at 20°C (68°F)

      1 - Body ground

      2 - Body ground

      		 10 MΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the air pump assembly.

    2. A01E1LGE03

      Check the operation of the air pump.


      1. Check that air does not flow from port A to port B.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the air pump assembly.

      2. A01DZRTE01

        Apply battery voltage across terminals 1 and 2.

        Note


        • Do not operate the air pump continuously for 5 seconds or more.


        • When operating the air pump, wait until the pump has cooled down between each operation. If the pump has not cooled down sufficiently, the motor will burn out.

      3. Check that air flows from port A to port B.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the air pump assembly.
