BRAKE ACTUATOR REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. PRECAUTION

    Note:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 VENTILATOR SEAL

  5. REMOVE FRONT AIR SHUTTER SEAL RH

    for LHD:Click here

    for RHD:Click here

  6. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL

    for LHD:Click here

    for RHD:Click here

  7. REMOVE BATTERY

  8. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

    Note:

    If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash it off.

  10. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  11. REMOVE RELAY BLOCK BRACKET

      Remove the bolt and separate the ground wire from the relay block bracket.

    2. Remove the bolt and relay block bracket.

  12. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET

    1. for RHD:

      1. C302745

        Push the lock and raise the lock lever as shown in the illustration, and disconnect the connector from the ECM.

    2. Disengage the claw of the lock lever and raise the lock lever, and disconnect the connector from the brake actuator assembly.

      Note:

      Be careful not to allow any brake fluid to enter the connector.

    3. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

      Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect the brake lines.

    5. Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the brake actuator assembly.

      Disengage the clamp to separate the No. 3 fuel tube clamp from the brake actuator bracket assembly.

      Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator with bracket.

      Note:
      • Do not damage the brake lines.

      • Do not hold the brake actuator assembly by the connector.

      Tip:

      Remove the brake actuator with bracket while avoiding the brake lines.

  13. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

      Loosen the 2 nuts.

    2. Disengage the pin and remove the brake actuator assembly from the brake actuator bracket assembly
