PARKING BRAKE CABLE REMOVAL
PROCEDURE
PRECAUTION
CAUTION:Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (Click here).
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note:w/ Navigation System for HDD:
After the ignition switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).
REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH
Remove the front seat assembly LH (Click here).
REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH
Tip:Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
Remove the console box assembly (Click here).
REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET
DISCONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE

Disconnect the No. 3 parking brake cable from the parking brake equalizer as shown in the illustration.

Disconnect the No. 2 parking brake cable from the parking brake equalizer.
Tip:Use the same procedure described for the No. 3 parking brake cable.

REMOVE REAR WHEEL
REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER LH (for 1ZR-FAE)
REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER LH (for 2ZR-FAE)
REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER LH (for 1WW)
REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER RH (for 1ZR-FAE)
REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER RH (for 2ZR-FAE)
REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER RH (for 1WW)
REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
for 1ZR-FAE:
Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly (Click here).
for 2ZR-FAE:
Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly (Click here).
for 1WW:
Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly (Click here).
REMOVE NO. 2 FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

Remove the 3 nuts and No. 2 front floor heat insulator.

DISCONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH
DISCONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY RH
Tip:Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
DISCONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the No. 3 parking brake cable (Click here).
DISCONNECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
Tip:Use the same procedure described for the No. 3 parking brake cable.
REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

Detach the spring clip of the No. 2 parking brake cable from the backing plate. Then disconnect the No. 2 parking brake cable from the backing plate.

Remove the bolt and casing cap from the body.
Detach the clamp.
Remove the 5 bolts and the No. 2 parking brake cable.

REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

Detach the spring clip of the No. 3 parking brake cable from the backing plate. Then disconnect the No. 3 parking brake cable from the backing plate.

Remove the bolt and casing cap from the body.
Detach the clamp.
Remove the 4 bolts and the No. 3 parking brake cable.
