STARTER (for 2.2 kW Type Denso Made) REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL MAGNET STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. A01DXNZE01

      for seal type:

      Install a new O-ring to the groove of the starter drive end housing.

    2. Apply high-temperature grease to the idler gear, pinion gear, steel ball, return spring, clutch roller and retainer.

    3. A01DW85

      Install the steel ball.

    4. Insert the return spring into the starter clutch hole.

    5. Install the starter clutch, pinion gear, idler gear, retainer and clutch roller to the starter drive housing.

      Install the starter drive housing to the magnet starter switch assembly with the 2 screws.

      Torque:
      9.3 N*m  { 95 kgf*cm, 82 in.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY


    1. Apply high-temperature grease to the starter armature bearing.

    2. A01DXNC

      Using a press, press the starter armature into the starter yoke assembly to install it.

  3. INSTALL STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

      Align the claw of the brush holder with the claw groove of the starter yoke assembly.

    2. Install the brush holder to the starter yoke assembly.

    3. A01E30M

      Install the 4 starter yoke brushes to the brush holder.


      1. Using a screwdriver, pull back the spring.

      2. Install the brush to the brush holder.

        Note

        Check that the positive (+) lead wires are not grounded.

  4. INSTALL STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01DZL1

      Install a new O-ring to the groove of the starter yoke assembly.

    2. A01DYZB

      Align the punch mark of the starter yoke assembly with the line of the magnet starter switch assembly and install the starter yoke assembly.

    3. A01E0X2E01

      Install 2 new O-rings to the bolts.

    4. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      12.7 N*m  { 130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }
    5. A01DYJX

      Connect the lead wire to terminal C with the nut.

      Torque:
      5.9 N*m  { 60 kgf*cm, 52 in.*lbf }
