READ DATA LIST
Tech Tips
Using the intelligent tester's Data List allows switch, sensor, actuator, and other item values to be read without removing any parts. Reading the Data List early in troubleshooting is one way to save time.
Note
In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.
Warm up the engine.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and push the tester main switch on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.
Follow the instructions on the tester and read the Data List.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST
Tech Tips
Performing the intelligent tester's Active Test allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. Performing the Active Test early in troubleshooting is one way to save time.
The Data List can be displayed during the Active Test.
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and push the tester main switch on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test.
Perform the Active Test.
| Tester Display | Test Part | Control Range | Diagnostic Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Activate the Solenoid (SLT)* | Operate the shift solenoid SLT and raise line pressure | ON or OFF Tech Tips
|
[Vehicle Condition]
|
| Activate the Solenoid (S1) | Operate the shift solenoid S1 | ON or OFF | [Vehicle Condition]
|
| Activate the Solenoid (S2) | Operate the shift solenoid S2 | ON or OFF | [Vehicle Condition]
|
| Activate the Lock Up | Control shift solenoid SL to set automatic transmission to lock-up condition | ON or OFF | Possible to check shift solenoid valve SL operation [Vehicle Condition] Vehicle speed: 60 km/h (36 mph) or more |
| Activate the Solenoid (SL) | Operate the shift solenoid SL | ON or OFF | [Vehicle Condition]
|
| Control the Shift Position | Operate shift solenoid valve and set each shift position |
|
Possible to check operation of shift solenoid valves [Vehicle Condition] 50 km/h (30 mph) or less |
Tech Tips
*: "Activate the Solenoid (SLT)" in the Active Test is performed to check the line pressure changes by connecting SST to the automatic transmission, which is used in the Hydraulic Test Click here as well. Please note that the pressure values in the Active Test and Hydraulic Test are different.
