PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT FUEL PUMP

    1. A323535N01

      Check the resistance.

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection

        Condition

        Specified Condition

        4 (+) - 5 (-)

        20°C (68°F)

        0.2 to 3.0 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel suction tube assembly.

    2. Check the operation.

      1. Apply battery voltage to both terminals. Check that the fuel pump operates.

        Note:

        • Perform this test within 10 seconds to prevent the coil from burning out.

        • Keep the fuel pump as far away from the battery as possible.

        • Always switch the voltage on and off at the battery side, not the fuel pump side.

        If the fuel pump does not operate, replace the fuel suction tube assembly.
