FRONT POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Slide) INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.


  1. INSTALL POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Slide)

      Install the slide cable.

      Note

      Make sure that the cable is correctly inserted into the motor.

      *1 Slide Screw

      Install the power seat motor assembly (for Slide) together with the slide cable to the slide screws.

      Note


      • Make sure that the slide rail is locked in the rearmost position.

      • If the serrations on the slide screw and power seat motor assembly with slide cable do not align, grip the slide screw with needle-nose pliers and install the power seat motor assembly together with the slide cable while slightly moving the slide screw. In these cases, do not turn the slide screw 90° or more.

      • Do not apply excessive force to the slide cable (do not bend the slide cable 60° or more).

    3. Using a 4 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      1.6 N*m  { 16 kgf*cm, 14 in.*lbf }

    4. Using a 5 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

    5. Install 2 new nuts.

      Torque:
      2.5 N*m  { 25 kgf*cm, 22 in.*lbf }

    6. Attach the claw to connect the connector to the seat frame.

      Component without harness connected

      (Power Seat Motor Assembly)

      Connect the positive (+) battery terminal to terminal 1 of the power seat motor and the negative (-) battery terminal to terminal 2, and then slide the seat and align the matchmarks.

      Check that the matchmarks are aligned on both sides.

      If the matchmarks are not aligned, check the installation condition of the power seat motor assembly, and remove and reinstall the power seat motor assembly if necessary.

    9. Connect the connector.

    10. Install the seat cushion frame with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

      Attach the 4 clamps indicated by the arrows in the illustration to install the seat cushion spring.

    12. Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.

  2. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD


    1. Attach the hooks to install the front seat cushion cover with pad.

    2. Bend the 2 front seat cushion frame claws downward.

      for LHD, w/ Seat Heater System:


      1. Attach the 4 front seat cushion heater assembly LH clamps.

      2. Connect the 2 front seat cushion heater assembly LH connectors.

      *1 Hog Ring Pliers

      Using hog ring pliers, attach the rubber bands of the separate type front seatback cover to the seat cushion spring with new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

  3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Install the front seat inner belt assembly LH with the nut.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not allow the anchor part of the front seat inner belt assembly to overlap the protruding part of the front seat adjuster.

    2. Connect the connector and attach the 3 clamps.

  4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD RH


    1. Pass the wire harness of the front seat inner belt assembly below the claw and into the front seat inner cushion shield RH.

      Attach the claw to temporarily install the front seat inner cushion shield RH.

      Note

      Make sure that the wire harness of the front seat inner belt assembly is not being pinched inside the front seat inner cushion shield.

      Attach the guide and claw.

      Note

      Make sure that the wire harness of the front seat inner belt assembly is not being pinched inside the front seat inner cushion shield.

    4. Install the screw.

  5. INSTALL FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Install the front power seat switch RH with the 3 screws.

  6. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH


    1. Attach the claw and guide to install the front seat cushion shield RH.

    2. Install the 3 screws.

    3. Install the 2 screws.

  7. INSTALL SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB

      Attach the 4 claws to install the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.

  8. INSTALL RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB

      Attach the 2 claws to install the reclining power seat switch knob.
