SOLAR SENSOR (for Automatic Air Conditioning System) INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT COOLER THERMISTOR (SOLAR SENSOR)

    (Cooler Thermistor (Solar Sensor))

    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (SS+) - 2 (SS-) Sensor not exposed to sunlight or inspection light Below 0.8 V
      Sensor exposed to sunlight or inspection light 0.8 to 4.3 V

      If the resistance is not as specified, replace the cooler thermistor (solar sensor).

      Tech Tips


      • Check from the rear of the connector while it is connected to the cooler thermistor (solar sensor).

      • Use an incandescent light for inspection. Bring it within about 30 cm (11.8 in.) of the cooler thermistor (solar sensor).
