CLUTCH SYSTEM(for C553A) PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
  • When racing the engine, make sure that the gear is in neutral.

  • If the multi-mode manual transaxle system stops with the transaxle set in any gear, the vehicle can be moved by disconnecting the shift and select actuator plug and setting the transaxle to neutral.

  • When replacing the following parts, proceed with the operation according to the order listed in the table below.

Note:

The push rod of a brand new clutch actuator assembly (service supply parts) is not set to the clutch clamp position. Therefore, adjust the clamp position before installing a new clutch actuator assembly.

Note:
  • Always replace the clutch cover assembly and the clutch as a set. If the clutch cover assembly and clutch disk assembly are not replaced as a set, the adjustment system of the clutch cover assembly may not not function properly. This may cause clutch drag or clutch slippage, which can result in poor driveability or damage to components.

  • Before proceeding with learning of the multi-mode manual transaxle system, clear the previously stored learning values.
