BLIND SPOT MONITOR DESCRIPTION
Blind spot monitor sensor radiate electromagnetic waves to detect other vehicles driving in the blind spots of the vehicle having the sensor, and then the indicator lamps are lit up or flashed to assist the driver in checking for safe movement when changing lanes.

| *a | Expansion of Electromagnetic Waves (Example) |
| *b | Vertically 60° |
| *c | Horizontally 160° |
The radiation range of the electromagnetic waves expands vertically and horizontally in relation to the sensor.
INSPECTION PROCEDURES FOR THE BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR BRACKET AND INSTALLATION AREA
If you have replaced the quarter panel or blind spot monitor bracket, let alone repaired the quarter panel, the sensor installation angle must be checked since it may become misaligned.
Be sure to always perform a functional inspection after any body repair. (This is performed as a comprehensive inspection with the bumper installed.)
*For functional inspection procedures, refer to the electronic manual (repair manual).
PROCEDURES FOR MEASURING THE INSTALLATION ANGLE OF BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR
The installation angle is measured at the planes A, B, and C by use of a digital angle meter, 3D measuring instrument, or similar instrument.
For B and C, measure the sensor planes by use of a digital angle meter, or measure the position of the sensor bracket.
As an angle meter cannot be used to measure A, measure the sensor bracket (dimension y).

PROHIBITIONS REGARDING RADIATION RANGE OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES
The following work is prohibited within the radiation ranges of electromagnetic waves because they might affect the waves.
Putty application repair of damaged areas
Tech Tips
Repair by painting is allowed for slight damage that can be filled in by a primer surfacer or paint.
| *a | Avoid the radiation ranges of electromagnetic waves | *b | Apply only primer surfacer to repair damage |
