DESCRIPTION

The following DTCs are stored when a malfunction occurs in the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).

Both of following conditions are met:


  1. Engine switch on (IG) or electric parking brake switch assembly pulled to lock side with engine switch off.

  2. Skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) power source relay shorted for approximately 60 seconds.

  • Wire harness or connector

  • Electric parking brake switch assembly

  • Skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly)

 DTC stored An electric parking brake system malfunction is displayed on the multi-information display.

Note


  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the engine switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

  • When replacing the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), operate the electric parking brake switch assembly as the parking brake indicator light blinks (red) when the engine switch is first turned on (IG).

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY))

      Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Disconnect the A41 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

    1. Remove the electric parking brake switch assembly.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) - ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the J85 electric parking brake switch assembly connector.

      Disconnect the A41 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      A41-36 (LCK1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A41-23 (LCK2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A41-31 (REL1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
