DESCRIPTION

The driving support ECU assembly receives airbag sensor assembly signals from the airbag sensor assembly and brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) via CAN communication. If the driving support ECU assembly receives airbag sensor assembly malfunction signals from the airbag sensor assembly or brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU), DTC C1A46 is stored.

While the vehicle speed is 5 km/h (3 mph) or more, an airbag sensor assembly malfunction signal is received from the brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) for 10 seconds or more.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

  • First check the CAN communication system by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. After checking that there are no malfunctions in the CAN communication system, proceed with troubleshooting.

  • When replacing the driving support ECU assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a driving support ECU assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the driving support ECU assembly will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK FOR DTC (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Trouble Codes.

    5. Check for DTCs.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRC > Trouble Codes

      OK

      Vehicle stability control system DTCs are not output.

  2. CHECK FOR DTC

    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here

      Body Electrical > Pre-Crash 2 > Clear DTCs

    2. Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met (drive the vehicle at a speed of 5 km/h [3 mph] or more).

      Tip:

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.

    3. Check for DTCs.
