OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR REMOVAL

Tip:

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The following procedure is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure as for the driver seat.

  2. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE RH

      Protective Tape

      Raise the reclining adjuster release handle RH to reveal the claw. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle RH.

      Tip:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH

      Disconnect the rubber band of the separate type front seatback cover from the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

      Detach the 2 claws, 4 guides and 2 clips to remove the front seat cushion shield RH.

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD RH

      Detach the 2 claws and 2 guides to remove the front seat inner cushion shield RH.

  6. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY

      Fastener

      Detach the claw and 4 clamps to disconnect the front seat airbag assembly wire harness from the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

    2. Detach the fastener to disconnect the front seat airbag assembly wire harness from the separate type front seat cushion cover.

    3. w/ Seat Heater System:

      Disconnect each connector and each clamp.

      Detach the 2 hooks of the separate type front seat cushion cover from the separate type front seatback assembly.

      Remove the 4 bolts and separate type front seatback assembly.

  7. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD

    1. Detach the 11 hooks.

      Detach the claw to disconnect the occupant detection sensor connector and remove the separate type front seat cushion cover with pad from the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

  8. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD (OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR)

    1. Remove the 21 hog rings and separate type front seat cushion pad (occupant detection sensor) from the separate type front seat cushion cover.
