EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY

   Click here

2. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (Sensor 1)

   Click here

3. SEPARATE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

   1. w/o Catalytic Converter:

      1. 

         *A	w/o Catalytic Converter
         *B	w/ Catalytic Converter

         Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs and separate the front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Catalyst).

   2. w/ Catalytic Converter:

      1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs and separate the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Catalyst).

   3. w/o Catalytic Converter:

      1. 

         Disconnect the front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust pipe support.

   4. w/ Catalytic Converter:

      1. Disconnect the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the exhaust pipe support.

   5. Remove the gasket from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Catalyst).

4. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

   1. 

      Remove the 3 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Catalyst).

5. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

   1. 

      	Bolt
      	Nut

      Remove the bolt, nut and manifold stay from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Catalyst) and cylinder block sub-assembly.

6. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD (TWC: Catalyst)

   1. 

      	Bolt
      	Nut

      Remove the 2 bolts, 4 nuts and exhaust manifold (TWC: Catalyst) from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

   2. Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket and inlet EGR gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
